Election Countdown 9 Weeks to Go: This Week we Take a Breather
Last night Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska conceded defeat in her primary battle against upstart Joe Miller. Pundits are calling the election the “upset of the year,” somehow forgetting how Scott Brown of Massachusetts waxed his Democratic opponent in January.
But the lesson is clear: Few incumbents, Democratic or Republican, will have a free ride this coming Fall.
So this week leading up to the Labor Day weekend, it’s time to take a breather, and make plans for the Fall campaign.
November 2 will belong to those who are working to scale back the intrusion of government into the affairs of private citizens.
