Gina Orona-Ruiz, executive director of La Casa, Inc., left, Don Harlow, La Casa board president and Dawna Vince, an agent with Allstate Insurance, pose Monday at the domestic violence shelter with a symbolic check.
Vince presented the money to La Casa to help fund its Financial Empowerment Curriculum, which teaches clients how to manage money and become financially independent, said Orona-Ruiz. Vince is a “big supporter” of the Allstate Foundation after her 15-year-old niece, Ashley Wax, was murdered by her boyfriend, she said.
