I-VAWA: Definition of DV now includes psychological abuse “condoned” by the government
Want proof that you can make any ridiculous claim you want, as long as you say you’re stopping DV?
The proposed International Violence Against Women Act defines domestic violence to include: “physical, sexual, and psychological violence perpetrated or condoned by the government of the country of which the victim is a resident.” (Section 4, paragraph 5).
So let’s say a woman from India goes on a vacation trip to the United States. She gets into an argument with her American boyfriend. The woman suffers debilitating “psychological harm.”
So the government of India — not just the unsuspecting guy – is now guilty of domestic violence because it “condones” DV!
Are you curious where such an outlandish definition comes from? It was lifted, almost word-for-word, from the Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing, China in 1995. That’s right! If passed, the definitions found in I-VAWA will come straight from a radical feminist conference held 15 years ago in Communist China.
